This place is just blah. Went in one evening because my boyfriend and I had a taste for mofongo. We regretted it. First I think there was a sweet 16 going on in there that night, which wasn't a problem other than service being super slow. Second they sat us in a dark corner like we were in time out. The music was so loud we could barely have a conversation and finally the mofongo sucked big time. There was like no chicharron in it all plantain. I wanted to like this place because it's a hop skip and a jump from my place, but I think I'll be hopping and skipping in the opposite direction from now on. :(

Every time I have visited this restaurant, the customer service has been great. Very attentive. Food itself is amazing. I'm usually picky when it comes to certain food but when I order from here, I clean the plate! Highly recommend!

At first my hubby and I we were excited to discover another Dominican restaurant. We liked the fact that it was a lot closer to us... So we go one Saturday morning to give it a twirl and we ordered the eggs, salami, fried cheese and mangu. The waitress said they had no coffee, so we settled for orange juice (booo!). I found the food to be really oily and that turned me off from enjoying the rest of the food. The price was a little up there for just a breakfast. We've also attempted to check out this place for dinner but again, the prices are too steep.

Puritas is a fun and down to earth place. Love the music (Bachata, Merengue, Salsa y mas) Feels like, I'm at a big Fiesta. Last few times I went with my friends we had a great time and we never stopped dancing. And if you decide to go don't forget to order the "picadera". Yum yum.

I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone that asks for an amazing dominican restaurant to eat at. The food was served so beautifully that you almost didn't want to ruin the masterpiece that was served in front of you, but let me tell you once you dig in you won't want to stop. The food was that good! Please disregard any bad reviews you've seen on here and give this place a shot like we did... it was a one of a kind experience. The server was very attentive and made our experience a very pleasant one.

The first time I went the music was so loud I thought my eardrums were going to burst! Food was good, ordered Churrasco with rice and beans, second time I ordered to go Churrasco and I was not impressed.

From the time we walked in to the time we left the music was way too loud. The lights where obnoxious in neon colors and the tables were set with polyester tablecloths and cheap silk flowers. I lived in the Dominican Republic for a while and I loved going to local mom and pop restaurants as well as fine establishments. The food took a long time to arrive which was alright by me because that meant it was made to order. The service was odd in that the waiter kept coming back and asking us more questions about two orders of steak with rice and beans. After being asked how I wanted my steak cooked it came out medium well instead of medium rare. I didn't care because it tasted good and we were very hungry. The rice was good and fresh, the red beans were creamy and delicious. After we got the bill we waited almost 20 minutes for someone to pick it up. No one ever came and so I just paid with cash and left. The food was good but nothing to rave about.

I am a huge promoter and advocate of anyone or anything Dominican as it is my background but I am beyond disappointed at this place. I have attempted many time to give them a try but it has been a constant let down. For starters they are inconsistent with what is available on their menu. The latency in service alone is upsetting and they are never able to pick up their phone when you attempt to place an order for pick up. The food is descent but the service alone makes it hard to recommend to anyone. I would suggest to try Punta Cana restaurant which is not that far from this place instead.

Average. Nothing remarkably good or bad. Portion size was good but was a long wait for the food

Went there for lunch today .. had the steak / Carne Asada lunch special ... the white rice and red beans were divine the Steak was nicely flavored and tender.. The portion was perfect!! Held me past dinner... It was enough to were I wasn't stuffed and I wouldn't be hungry any time soon.. and all for $6 .. much better than an extra value meal .. I dont give it a 5 star rating yet because I need to visit a few more times ..

I came here one Saturday morning for breakfast. I was the only one there. I just took a look at the menu prices for breakfast and they were so greatly exaggerated that I walked out. Sorry. Nothing good to say but I found it way too pricey for the food offered and the area: eggs, cheese, coffee.

I have to write this review because this restaurant really made me proud of being Dominican! first time i tried it. So nice, neat, comfortable! Modern design!! Wow!!! I eat mashed yuca!!! Yum!!!! I cant remember the last time I ate "Pure de yuca con bacalao guisao" domincan power all the way!!! I tried today 01/28/2014 breakfast!! OmG!! I'm uploading a picture!!! It was a lot of "mangu" so i saved some for later and just aet it for dinner! People! Mangu was still soft!! I dont know what they put, but w 1 min in the Microwave was like if it was made recent! So glad the owner opened with that modern concept! And will try the karaoke nights! I heard they are awesome! On Valentines Day we tried to go, but it was packed! Sorry to the gal that left that negative comment! I guess it was not her lucky day! Maybe they were recently opened, but i have nothing negative to say, but that I love this place and the food I've tried both times I've been there! Good luck and I really hope the owners the best! Proud Dominican here to have U there!!

I was having so much hope about this place because I am half dominican but it was a disaster. This was on a friday night around 7:30.There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant, she was attending 10 tables plus the bar and the take out orders. I felt sorry for her. The waiting time for the drinks 15min for a lemonade, appetizer 30min for two chicken empanadas the taste was terrible, for the food 30min more.I ordered mangu with churrasco my partner ordered pork chop with white rice and bean. My meal came first, they don't know what mangu is!! They served mashed plantain with butter, the churrasco was the only good thing. She brought the other plate she said they were out of pork chops so she; without asking, brought fried pork chunks saying that it was the same as pork chops. We were so hungry at that time that we didn't care to ask for a change. The karaoke music was good. But sincerely don't think we will come back again.
